Media to Movements “Top of Funnel” Executive Summary: 9/19/23

Overview

On Sept 19, 2023 the Media to Movements Training Coalition hosted the “Top of Funnel” gathering to bring together those focused on marketing strategies. Marketing coaches Stephen Earp and Ricky Pope have shared their experiences in accelerating large movements media campaigns.

Discussion

  • Stephen Earp and Ricky Pope discussed their involvement in media coaching for Media to Movements team and their approach to end-to-end coaching. They also led us through the model used by Media to Movements team including top of the funnel, middle of the funnel and potential persons of peace.
  • Social media marketing is valuable as an access ministry to open doors for potential disciple making. The most important thing for marketers and content creators to contribute to media to movement strategy is to be personally involved in a disciple making movement.
  • Being involved in disciple making on the ground can provide better perspective and understanding for digital media strategies such as knowing the audience, pain points and avoiding assumptions about what people understand about the gospel.
  • Being active in disciple making can help prevent obstacles to multiplication and the importance of not just leading people to Christ online, but taking them on a journey.
  • They both emphasize the importance of having touch points in different areas of ministry and encourages everyone to make disciples regardless of their spiritual gifts or aptitude
